Candice Michaelson

General Manager of Cigna Pharmacy

Candice is the general manager of Cigna Pharmacy and has responsibility for strategy, integrated value proposition, solution capabilities, and financial oversight for the pharmacy business. Prior to this, Candice served as the vice president of pharmacy product and clinical solutions where she oversaw product strategy and development, formulary design, and clinical solutions.


Before Candice joined Cigna Healthcare, she was with Express Scripts for seven years, and served as vice president of account management overseeing the partnership with Prime Therapeutics and the Evernorth Wholesale Marketplace business. She also served as vice president of value-based solutions and has managed pharmacy rebate, retail, financial and pharmacy product solutions.


Prior to her career at Cigna, Candice held roles in business development and sales including Eli Lilly and Company which started her healthcare journey. Candice has a B.S. in Health Information Management and an MBA from Saint Louis University. Candice lives in Saint Louis with her family, her husband of 20 years and their two children ages 10 and 15.

Shanea McKinney

Cigna PharmD Clinical Account Manager

Shanea serves the Tennessee and Georgia/Alabama markets in her role within Cigna Pharmacy-Sales and Account Management, as a Clinical Account Manager.


Joining Cigna in 2019, she has had the opportunity to bring her clinical expertise as a pharmacist to various roles, including responsibilities in specialty product strategy and channel management, advancing vendor partnership capabilities to enhance access and affordability of specialty medications for members and customers.


She also, previously served in the Drug and Biologics, Clinical Coverage Policy Unit, collaborating with business decision teams to develop robust clinical policy to support Cigna’s utilization management programs. In her current role, Shanea supports current and prospective clients, providing pharmacy benefit performance management, aligning targeted solutions to Cigna’s overall value proposition.


Prior to joining Cigna, she completed a post-graduate fellowship at Eli Lilly & Company, as well as served as Client Services Director for Sedgwick. Shanea has a passion for community engagement, she proudly serves as a gubernatorial appointee to the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy and the University Board of Trustees.
